the way – the way – 1/24/13

My faith keeps me walking forward, when I don’t see very far ahead. I fall back into myself and what I believe is tested by the emptiness around me. My cues and prompts that have guided me from outside, are silent or find no purchase on my soul.
So I come back to the God I know, and take another step. I have nowhere else to go.

walking out my way
gathers
relationships
connections
bit by bit
and I find clarity
under each rock
round each corner
with each one I meet
a connection comes clearer

who draws me in to
what I’m good at
what I’m not

but some connecting must wait
until I find a way to grab hold
or fit into
or make use of
the relations I’ve pieced together
in my walking through

so I continue walking
at each step
faith whispers
“and don’t stop”

About Clark W Johnson

I am a poet, interested in using poetry to explore my interactions with the spiritual. I find poetry captures tension, paradox and flow well enough so I can hold experiences at arms length and reflect on them from multiple vantage points. As I walk deeper with my God, I'm finding such a record invaluable for myself, and I find that pieces and parts touch others as well. I love and long for more points of contact along those lines.
