the way – 9/16/12

I imagine a scripture verse, with Peter at the transfiguration:
1 Clark 1:27  “and Peter, having nothing to say, said …. “

the poem
it doesn’t come
and so I write

my thoughts shifting
from “faith, hope and love”
to musings on “the way”

it seems that
the signs are
flashing at me

it’s time to move on
further up, further in
to step up boldly

not quickly
not to hurry
but forward

and I have run off my familiar map
perhaps to learn new territory

so

I set out to explore
some things
that perhaps
I’ve avoided
long enough

About Clark W Johnson

I am a poet, interested in using poetry to explore my interactions with the spiritual. I find poetry captures tension, paradox and flow well enough so I can hold experiences at arms length and reflect on them from multiple vantage points. As I walk deeper with my God, I'm finding such a record invaluable for myself, and I find that pieces and parts touch others as well. I love and long for more points of contact along those lines.
