Beware – 3/13/12

Matthew 10:16-20, 24-26

Sometimes leaders, managers, those in charge, seem to have all the answers, and know best what we who follow, should do. I don’t know how to fit into a world view so small as to have no mysteries, no respect for what others can do that they can’t. Somehow my calling in part is to awaken and strengthen the unique gifts of others, so that as a whole we may accomplish, and love together, much more than we could separately.

Beware

when
I can’t get through
to the powers that be
I head down
to those walking
day to day
in the work
or life
we aspire to lead

I don’t know how to talk
with people who have
the answers
who know
that they know

its those with questions
I find conversation with
those who have run into something
overwhelming
puzzling
something that doesn’t fit

and yet are thankful
for those things
they do have
that can’t well
be numbered

About Clark W Johnson

I am a poet, interested in using poetry to explore my interactions with the spiritual. I find poetry captures tension, paradox and flow well enough so I can hold experiences at arms length and reflect on them from multiple vantage points. As I walk deeper with my God, I'm finding such a record invaluable for myself, and I find that pieces and parts touch others as well. I love and long for more points of contact along those lines.
